Olivia Burton, 23, is moving to California with her boyfriend Francis Morales, 24, against the wishes of her relatives. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s cohabitation and expresses her feelings in the form of violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite these objections, the young lovers settle into an exciting new life together. However, their happiness is cut short after a freak accident leaves Francis physically and mentally injured. He soon begins to suffer night terrors – whispering in his sleep to a figure Olivia cannot see and sleepwalking through strange corners of the house. These episodes frighten Olivia and also suggest that Francis may be hiding something from her. Their investigation leads to a terrifying and twisted discovery; they are haunted by the ghost of Francis’s childhood youth pastor, an entity enraged by their cohabitation and who has come to punish them for their sins.
